Via Ferrata originally started in the Dolomites, Italy as a means to transport troops across the mountains during World War I. After the war was over the via ferrata system remained in tact and was later changed into a recreational activity.

Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure hosts the first via ferrata system of its kind in the United States. It was designed by an experienced team, Roc Entreprises, from France and has been open since September of 2001. It has been enjoyed by people from all over the nation, young and old!
