Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure

Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure consists of a via ferrata which is a cable system that allows climbers to experience new heights by attaching to the cable with specialized gear. A climber can use the iron hand and foot rungs that are drilled into the rock face and held in place with an industrial epoxy to aid their climb.

Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure offers a day pass on the Via Ferrata. This includes training and all the gear necessary. Training is given by Torrent Falls staff before one begins their climb. Your safety is our number one concern!

Via Ferrata originally started in the Dolomites, Italy as a means to transport troops across the mountains during World War I. After the war was over the via ferrata system remained in tact and was later changed into a recreational activity.

Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure hosts the first via ferrata system of its kind in the United States. It was designed by an experienced team, Roc Adventures, from France and has been open since September of 2001. It has been enjoyed by people from all over the nation, young and old!

Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure is broken up into six different sections with a total of four levels of difficulty. The difficulty ranges from easy to expert. Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure has two easy sections, an intermediate section, two advanced sections, and an expert section. At each section there is an exit point in which a climber can make their way back to the main facility. Since a climber can resume where they left off, we encourage climbers to take necessary breaks, especially before attempting the more challenging sections. They can be quite the challenge!

The easier sections of the Climbing Adventure do not require an extensive amount of upper body strength, however the advanced sections do. The course can be challenging and is therefore not recommended for anyone with severe injuries or a weak heart.

Throughout the course one may encounter many exciting activities such as one of our two suspension briges or even our tight-rope walk which spans 40 feet. One may also encounter a walkway behind our waterfall or even heights of 120 feet! Check out our photo gallery for some cool pictures.

The season pass begins the sign up date and ends 12 months later. Upon each arrival there is a $5 set up fee.

RESERVATIONS are required on group of 10 or more participants. If you have fewer than 10 participants, calling to put your name and number on a list is required but a deposit is not taken. Walk-ins are always welcome, but this solely depends on equipment & staffing availability.. See Reservations for more information.

HOURS OPEN: 9 am until dark (must start climbing at least 3 hours before dark)
SEASON OPEN: March 1 through December 1

No prior climbing experience is necessary. One just needs a spirit for the outdoors and a head for heights! However, youth have to be ***10 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER*** to participate. If youth are between the ages of 10-14 an adult is needed to accompy them. An adult is 18 years or older. An Adult may supervise 4-5 youth at a time. We also offer guides on the Climbing Advenuture if adults do not want to climb. Guides are $10/hr and it is best to call ahead to make sure enough guides are available for you.

Torrent Falls is now offering you the chance to experience the Via Ferrata at night with our guided night tours!

-One must have climbed the Torrent Falls Climbing Aventure (via ferrata) during normal operating hours prior to this experience.
- One must be 10 years of age or older.

-Trips last for 2 hours, starting at 9pm. However one must arrive by 8:30 pm.
-We are open 7 days a week, March 1st through December 1st.
