Rock Climbing Clinics
Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure offers a 4 Day guided rock climbing clinic in one of the premier rock climbing areas on the East Coast, Red River Gorge Kentucky. This 4 Day clinic is a great course to take if you are interested in learning how to safely rock climb. ***Please Note: No certification is given upon taking this class; rather, it is a class designed to introduce one to the sport of rock climbing in a safe manner.***
Course Curriculum may include but is not limited too:
Day 1:
-Knot tying including but not limited too: Figure Eight on a follow-through and on a bight, Double Fisherman's Knot, Clove, Prusik, Autoblock, Kleimheist, etc.
-Belay techniques on multiple devices
-History of Rock Climbing including Route Classificiation
-Body Positions & Techniques, How to rest
Day 2:
-Focus on Sport Climbing
-How to properly lead climb
-How to Clean Anchors and How to clean a climbing route
Day 3:
-Focus on Traditional Climbing
-Focus on Active and Passive gear used for Traditional Climbing
-How to place gear & build anchors
Day 4:
-How to take over and/or escape a belay
-How to Ascend
-Discussion of what gear to purchase (and how it should properly fit), where to purchase and gear maintenance
-How to read/understand guidebooks and access
-Climbing Ethics
AMGA Certified Guides
Pricing
All of our rock climbing and rappelling is guided by AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association) certified guides. This is a national certification and for more information one can contact AMGA. In addition, all of our guides have Wilderness Firt Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification.
Torrent Falls Climbing Adventure can host AMGA training by bringing in AMGA certified instructors. Please call for more information.

Groups size is 4-12 participates. ***Please note this Clinic is an open group so you can still reserve if you have less than 4 and you will be added with other participants.***

This Guided Rock Climbing Clinic is geared for individuals that want to rock climb safely. It is a course that is targeted to people that have little experience but want to learn how to climb safely outdoors and also to those that have been climbing a few years but want to better their skills.

What to Bring
All climbing equipment needed for this course is included in the pricing.
The following is NOT included and you will NEED to bring in a small bag...
-Lunch, Snacks, Water (Days typically last between 6-8 hours, so bring enough to last you the whole time)
-Clothes that are comfortable to climb in, typically what you would hike in works just fine
-Closed-toe, closed-heel shoe
-Rain Gear
-Sunscreen, bugspray
-Camera
